Default power adder on a stock motor?

so i'm considering doing something stupid with the LTD. basically its a bone-stock 5.0 HO and 4.10 gears. budget-minded, im considering throwing in a power adder (super or turbo) and blow up the motor so i have an excuse to build something better. I may do a trans as well.. the original one shifts fine, but shift points are at 4900 at WOT and its got a 900 stall converter.. not even designed for the HO engine.

so that might be my winter project. possible? besides of course MAF conversion, and fuel system upgrades.

just so you know, i can fit anything under its hood. no a/c and a tiny engine in a big car makes for a nice time

three good reasons-

as far as adding power to the vert, i'm done. I'm hovering the 13 sec goal and all i need is a bit of tuning and good tires. no point in going faster on a car i meant more for cruising than racing, plus its a vert.. frame twistage is not good. reliability is a concern as well.. keeping it n/a keeps it reliable

LTD makes for a nice sleeper. I've owned this car for 10 years and i don't see myself letting it go anymore. noone wants to pick it up, so i may as well make the most of it and turn it into something interesting. I'm a huge fan of sleepers.

the new Camaros weigh in just about what my LTD weighs. I know plenty of panthers that can lift those front wheels off the ground. yeah, its a heavy 3900lb car, but it still seats 6 comfortably and another 6 in the trunk.

I can't do it with my vert.. If i'm going to make a Mustang fast, its going to be a coupe or a hatch, not a vert.

Angel, i got you faded.. don't worry

If there is one thing I have learned over the years it's focus on one project and one project only.

I had the boat, snowmobile race car, street car and bike at one time. Once I put all my effort into one project things started coming together. Just because you put a blower on the GT doesn't mean you have to put it on kill and have it broken all the time. I've got lots of customer with blown show cars that never see the track or only see the track once a year. Just my .02
