Default my clutch pedal is completely loose

Started out for a drive and after going into second gear I think I heard a noise and now the pedal just hangs there. Thoughts? Managed to get back home and almost into the garage. I can go through the gears ok. But pedal is useless. It's like it's not connected to anything.

And remember Doug is car dumb.

Probably a broken clutch cable. If routed too close to the exhaust, they will break. They will also eventually fail from old age.

I don't mean to laugh at you, but this made me LOL. Whenever I make a technical post, I have a similar disclaimer at the end of it as well, so I know where you're coming from!

How did you manage to still get it home? That would tell more of the puzzle

I was in second and in my neighborhood. So I made judicious use of second, gas and brake combo. Made it all the way back to the house and almost all the way into the garage.

I think my clutch cable is starting to go on my 88 LX. my clutch pedal is starting to get a droop to it. Any fox guys recommend a good replacement cable or ones to stay away from?
