They did have insurance, which is what baffles me.

Finally got my dash cam installed a couple days ago. Install was easy. I ended up pulling the passenger side a-pillar cover and ran the wiring along the factory harness, behind the side curtain airbag. The cable for the rear camera is under the passenger side door sill trim and goes up behind the rear quarter panel plastics to the headliner. Took me around 2 hours to install. The wiring was simple. It just needed a constant 12v source, a key on source, and a ground. I used fuse taps so I can simply unplug it if I ever want to remove it.

Here are a couple samples of the video quality:

I have substituted my dash cam out for a radar detector this summer. I need to figure out how to get them both going without filling my windshield up.

Oh wow that's good quality. Did you have to add a camera to the rear of the vehicle, or were you able to tap into the existing back-up cam? PS sorry if you said this already, I just skimmed this thread lol.

The system comes with a smaller camera that gets mounted on the rear glass. The rear camera just plugs into a single cable that gets routed from the front camera to the rear.

That would be awesome if I could tap into the reverse camera. It would probably work better since my rear window is tinted and darkens the video.

My favorite thing about my dash cam is that it's basically a surveillance camera for my driveway at night. If someone walks or drives down my street, the motion sensor picks it up and it starts recording.
