Cool CMC Road Course Track Day - Sept. 10th

After a ton of planning a preparation I am happy to announce CMC’s first Road Course Track Day! If you have been ever interested in taking to the track this is your time! CMC will be attending the event with GPS Track Time, LLC. Here are the details!

    When:
    Saturday September 10th 2016

    Gates open: 7:00 AM
Car Tech inspection: 7:00 AM-8:20 AM
    Drivers meeting: 8:25 AM
    Hot Track: 9:00 AM
    Lunch: 12:00 PM
    End of day: 5:00 PM

    Where:

    Autobahn Country Club (South Course)
3795 Centerpoint Way, Joliet, IL 60436

Costs for 7 - 20 minute track sessions:

    $243 Racing without GPS timer
    $263 Racing with GPS timer
Autobahn may charge a $5 fee for spectators.

    Food and Drink:

Please feel free to bring whatever you like
There will be plenty of space to set up a grill and cook out. You're welcome to make arrangements with other CMC bros to coordinate.
CMC will also have some bottled water available
Autobahn has a cafe on site

    Event Details and FAQ

    Upon arrival
If you're racing, please be sure to tell the gate you are with GPS Track Time. They will give you a wristband so you can enter and exit the facility throughout the day.

Once you are in you will follow the driveway to the pit area. You will need to check in with the GPS Track Time staff and get your car teched at the tech garage. CMC will be parking on the left of the pits on the grass near the grid and track entrance.

There will be a drivers meeting that you will have to attend at the GPS Track Time tent. The drivers meeting will provide you all the necessary information on track conditions, instructors, and scheduled run groups for the day.

    Tech
In order for you to get on the track safely your car will need to pass a tech inspection. This inspection insures that you have a vehicle deemed safe for the race track. The forum below is an example of what the tech inspectors will be looking for.

    What is this about?

CMC Road Course Track Day is a brand new event for 2016! This is not only the chance to hang with bros, but to push our cars to limit, have fun, learn, and for some resolve all the smack talk that's been taking place all summer! This is a HPDE style track day so you can get comfortable at your own pace. Even if you're not running, please come out and support CMC. We want to bring out as many cars as we can to show why CMC is the best!!

What do I need to bring if I want to race?

    Helmet information:
you will need a Snell SA rated helmet. SA2005 is only acceptable if it can be verified it was manufactured after 2005; we highly recommend SA2010/SA2015 certification per the recommendation by the Snell Foundation. Look for the label inside your helmet (you will not be able to participate without it!) Please note that bike helmets are M rated and not allowed.
The Autobahn Country Club has 20 helmets of various sizes available for rent for $30.
Enough talk!! Who wants to race???
For those of you who are interested in participating please send Mee14x a PM and I will get you further information on what run group you will be placed in as well as how to register for the event.

For registration and other information for GPS Track Time please visit their website http://gpstracktime.com/

I will see you guys there

For those of you looking for event insurance for the road course, here is a program for this event.

    http://locktonmotorsports.com/event/...ck-time-4/9092

This covers your car if there is damage while inside the track. It does not have liability coverage. It is only damage to your car. If you have any questions about this or any insurance policy, please feel free to contact me.

I'm planning (HA!) on having the car back on the road in time for the opener. I doubt I could get it in good enough shape for this. It would likely require a motor and trans rebuild.

I should be in for this. I need to do some work on the car to get it ready for this, so its probably better that it is late in the season.
