    Default LTDmasta's 1967 Coupe

Yeah.. the fox guru stepped into the classic arena.

I've always loved the early 65-68 coupes.. I was on the fence on buying another fox to build even though it probably would have been more practical, but i wanted a challenge. I wanted something different..

i picked this up in early september

manual 4-wheel drum, manual steering car. 302 out of a '71 Torino/fairlane according to the block casting #, 2 barrel and C-4 trans. body is mostly solid, interior needs minor work but is complete, runs and drives..

the car is a 20-footer at best. the paint was done by some guy in a back alley somewhere, the red scoops are a big WTF (the red wheel inserts I painted over cause i couldn't stand it) when i first got the car, had a nasty exhaust leak, ran fine but the aligment and brakes were dangerous so that all got corrected.. however even with the brakes properly set, manual drum brakes have no place on this planet. I had planned on converting them over to disc as i had the kit ready until cyl intake valve quit on me this past tuesday:

this threw a big curveball at the project.. initially planned on throwing in a cam, headers, 4-barrel and a reseal, but now it looks like new engine time

    Plans:

    Interior:
re-cover front seats (already have TMI kit)
replace the dash trim and gauge lenses & paint needles
new steering wheel & tilt column (aparently fat people like me didn't exist in 1967)
repaint metal door panel & rear panel sections
build center console for double-din radio

    Exterior:
replace front windshield gasket & install metal trim
    billet grille
    LED sequential programmable tail lamps
replace front parking lights with correct lights, LED bulbs
    HID headlights
    future:
Strip body down to bare metal (it'd had 3 repaints)
    Repaint to pearl white
    paint all chrome trim gunmetal
    - may do this in plastidip first to see if i like it

    Electrical:
replace the 50-year-old wiring with painless kit
    relocate battery
    modern gear-reduction starter
    3G alt

    Suspension:
    replace front springs, all shocks
performance sway bars front & back
    Future:
    AJE fox/SN95 conversion front kit
the AJE kit is really neat as it not only converts it to front coilovers, but modern brakes and rack & pinion steering. the plan would be Cobra rack & brakes
although Air ride is VERY tempting..

    Brakes & rear end:
    front scarebird disc brake conversion
    freshen rear drum brakes
SN95 power booster & fox master cylinder
8.8" from a fox/SN95 and convert to leaf
    future:
    94+ Cobra PBR brakes
    rear disc conversion
    94-95 master cylinder

    Powertrain:
    late-model roller 5.0
    Edelbrock performer intake
    holley 4150 series 4-barrel
    shorty headers
    other mods TBD
    AOD from a former ride
    future:
    FAST or Holley EFI conversion
    power adder?

stay tuned for more updates and pics
