I know most are against it but depends on your situation, what the car is for you ect. For my car, its been repainted and looks terrible IMO since it was a cheap job. I think I am going to strip the paint, do minor body work and repaint it a matte black. May not come out professional but wont be all scratched up and what not like its current paint. If you have the money or want a professional job, do it right, but expect to pay a lot. If its a drag car, project or you don't care spray away.

if you DIY, use at least the duplicolor paint shop paint system. If you rattle can it, it will not give you a smooth/uniform finish.

you can make a rattlecan job look good as long as you prep good and coat it evenly.

And as long as you take pics of the job from at least 30 feet away when the car is dusty as balls

LOL, I would say if you don't have alot of money to spend at least go to Maaco for now. Rattle canning a whole car will take forever and it will not come out all that great. Unless you want to go with the ghetto look LOL.

    Did someone say rattle can?

It can certainly be done and made to look good. Epi's right, lots of prep time and LOTS of wetsanding, but it can be done. Be sure to shoot a few good coats of clear because you'll probably sand about 2 of them off during the wet sanding.

My spoiler, side skirts, side views and entire engine bay were all rattle canned...

That being said, would I ever rattle can an ENTIRE car? HELL NO!
