Default Beware of Tom Peck Ford - Huntley, IL

Just wanted to throw up a quick warning for any members to stay away from Tom Peck Ford in Huntley, IL. I took my Mach to them Monday of this week to have them inspect a coolant leak and a pinion leak- they call back on Tuesday and say it will be $1085.45 to fix those ills. Of course I question that outrageous sum and they say they have to drop the tranny to get to the coolant leak and since my car is lowered, it will not be covered under warranty- I tell them, of course, that I first want to get a second opinion before going with that cost and they say fine- you can have your car back, oh, and it'll be a $100 for our inspection! Anyway- long story short, in a passing conversation with Brian G.- he said Buss Ford in McHenry are nice guys and they really hooked up his Cobra- I take it to them yesterday morning, by 3pm they call me back saying the car is done, the coolant leak is fixed, they put a nice pinion seal in and the cost was a whooping $0!!!!!!!! Buss Ford is awesome- they covered it all under warranty and a huge thanks go out to Bob and Dave over there! Buss Ford = Tom Peck Ford =

WTF does a lowering have to do with those problems

Wasn’t their some kind of law passed about aftermarket parts not affecting the warranty as long as their not related to the problem?

I think the stealer ships are slow and customer jobs pay better then warranty work.

Response for one my old posts apples here too
Go to the dealer and test drive their biggest truck then fken smash it into one of their nicest cars on the lot or even a few of them then sue them because for you injuries tell them the gas pedal stuck

Adam keep an eye on that seal. Seals in the pinion 99% of the time don't leak. It could be the bearing going and causing the seal to fail or if you had after market gears installed they might not have been done it right. Are your gears stock?

FWIW guys if you have a mildly modified car and can spare the drive come up to Madison and see Franz Cordio at Kayser Ford. They are for the most part MOD friendly.
Im running 315 DR's, ported Eaton, 2.8 upper 4# lower, boost by-pass, Accufab Polished Big Oval TB, C&L 95mm Pro-MAF, K&N, Bassani ORX w/Maggies and 4:10's, Steeda Tri-ax shifter and lowered. This man has yet to give me any crap over anything I have on this car. He has told me as long as it is not DIRECTLY related to the cause of the warranty work Ill fix it. And if it is... he wont void you, he will tell you up front so you dont waste your time and money unless you want it fixed. But you have to call him ahead of time and let him know whats up.

Come on Mike- why you gonna go and worry me like that- no, they are not stock (4.10s)... but both dealers said it was the seal, so??? I'll make sure to keep an eye out for another leak or if something doesn't seem right-
