that's hilarious. people really need to start living in reality and stop living in a dream world. Who would really think they could beat an 03 cobra or even hang with one with a SRT-4. Pullllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzz.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SRT4 owners are exactly like that! (I think it may be documented in medical journals)

A friend of a friend tried to convince me that his SRT-4 beats C5's. WTF is with these morons? Its a nice Neon, but it isn't a sports car.

Yes it was... but i do believe that it was staged... members from eachsite just wanted to start a war between 2 sites just for the sake of having some fun... i even think that the same guy made both of the videos

"I see now, the turbo van is faster then mustangs too."

Looks like the Neon guys need to work on their English. "Than" is to be used when comparing....not "then"

I have a buddy who has a SRT-4 with a stage 3 kit. Pretty fast, about 300RWHP. Not bad for a 2900lb 4-door neon. Faster than my car (for now!).

Your buddy is driving a 2900lb time-bomb. 300hp or not - the money bet is that thing isn't gonna last anywhere near as long as say a 300hp 5.0L. Power is one thing, reliablity is another...

So eventhough your buddy's car might be faster, at least you know you'll finish the race!

A Stage 3 SRT-4 should be closer to 350 rwhp I would thinkand you'd be surprised at how durable they. And not to sound like an ass, but last time I was at the track they handed out Timeslips not Mileage-slips.

I'll take your bet. :D

Sorry, I tried (unsuccessfully apparently, my apologies to BnGRacing) to get my point across without sounding like a dick. However, if our first priority was longevity, none of us on this forum would have modified our cars. :?

Haha, I said 300RWHP. Make that FRONT WHEEL horsepower. That's on 110 octaine and the boost turned up. Normal driving he says is 260.

Sorry, I guess that's my auto-x/OT mentality...which puts reliability and control WAY infront of acceleration.

Just another point of view.....

I hear ya, I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum and forget sometimes that you do need to also be able to stop and turn occasionally. I'm hoping to road race my car at least once this year and perhaps I'll have a more balanced perspective afterwards.

I've never drag raced...but I can only imagine how these motorsports are 2 different worlds.

For instance; the fastest times @ a track is not done by the fastest car but the fastest driver and, more times than not, slower is usually faster (well slow in/fast out). OT is not easy, well to do it fast and consistent isn't easy. Auto-x is even harder...

In drag racing you don't have to worry about brake fade, fluid fade, cooking your front tires, other cars/drivers and you have to see much further than just 12-13 seconds infront of you. Its a different discipline.

However, unlike drag racing, if you come in too hot into a corner you have room to correct it when in drag racing - if you blow it...you lost. And I think running consistent laps laps is no harder than running consistent 1/4mi times....which isn't easy (so I've heard).

Either way, you'll have a great time!
