I want to get a set of lowering springs for my car and I was just wondering which ones I should get. I was looking at the two Eibach sets: Pro and Sport. Which would you guys recommend? Or what other brands would you recommend if not Eibach?

the pros will give you some what of a drop 1-1.5"
the sportlines will slam you around 2"

i might say go with some steeda springs but since you seem to be goin with the saleen theme check out what they got suspension wise also

Well I checked out the Saleen site and it says it'll be ready Oct. 4, 2004....still not working. Maybe I'll call them tomorrow to check out some pricing on their springs.

Go with the Steeda sport springs. Ride quality is like stock lowers the car 1.5" in the front about an 1" in the rear. And it still bust 1.8 60ft's 8)

Absolutely don't buy direct from Saleen or Roush- buying direct prices is insane- there are too many companys that offer the same products at a much discounted rate-

i.e.- when I had my Roush II, I got a Roush shifter from Stage 3 Motorsports for $25- Roush direct would have set me back over $60-

Just a thought!

ive heard great things about the eibach. the only two i have experience with is the stage 2 suspension...which is great, i think its bilstein or something, and the mac lowering springs i got for the other stang. the macs lower the car quite a bit, but the ride quality lowers as well. doesnt saleen use all racecraft?

I heard that just doing Springs is bad because of the strain on the struts and that Coil Overs is the way to go.

When I first got my Cobra it had Eibach's and Tokico Blues...it wasn't up to my expectations. Ya, it looked good when it was parked - but driving up a driveway w/an incline and you'll scrape. It was too damn low, maybe to the point of adversely affecting the camber curve. Its street manners are great, but as soon as you start to get aggressive the Eibachs started to fall on their face.

Tokico shocks were ok. They're very street minded...like the Eibachs. When pushed, they fell on their face too.

I switched to H&R Race springs with Bilsteins soon afterwards. Overall, they're much better on the street and on the open track. The H&R/Bilstein setup made my old Eibach/Tokico setup seem like an understeering, cone slaughtering, ground scrape'n barge...b/c it was.

Don't even get me started on Steeda! (as I gnash my teeth and try to hold back)

Anyways, as you increase wheel rate - you must increase dampning to balance everything out. Also keep in mind, the lower you go - bump-steer and negative camber will be more prominent. CC plates and a bump-steer kit will make a HUGE difference.

If you are looking @ springs for better handling - don't forget about the chassis! Our uni-bodies and k-members are very flimsy. Brace anything/everything you can. What that does is it allows the suspension to do its job more efficently by reducing body flex. You'll also notice a smoother ride too b/c bumps will be absorbed by the suspension and not the body causing less twisting which makes the ride feel "jarred".

The best example would be to take a convertable car over some railroad tracks, then take a hardtop...you'll notice a big difference. The hardtop will seem the least offensive of the 2 b/c the hardtop's suspension is doing its job - not the frame.

I got 4cyl Fox body springs in front and V8 Fox body springs in back. Lowered about 2 inches in front and about a half inch in back. Cost me under $100 for all 4 and the weight transfer is awesome!
