I have a 07 v6, with dual slp axle backs and a k&n cold air intake. I have acouple bucks laying around and im just wondering what i should buy next to get my stang trumble a little more and keep up with the v8's?
I would suggest a nice gear. Cheaper way to make it seem like your car picked up some crazy power.

Gears + tlok, If its a DD i would recommend 3.73 if its manual or 4.10 if its automatic and a flash tuner would add some HP with a 93 octane tune.

+1 for gears/t-lok. Maybe a short throw if its a manual.
stop ripping through parking lots loaded with people. Yes you did it again at the opener. I witnessed this time.

I got my gears and tlok from americanmuscle.com a shift kit + tuner may be something else to look into, i hear they do wonders on a automatic... i cant verify that though.

get gears/tlock first, then look into doing a trans/torque converter upgrade. That is getting into bigger money though.

If you do get the gears and tlok shoot me a PM ill give you the number of my mechanic out in aurora. He is Ammco(SP?) certified and did my install for 220$(200 for the install and 20$ to buy a couple guys who helped him lunch) and i couldn't be happier with the work, no whine at all. With the gears tlok install kit and royal purple gear oil +install i paid around 700$ total. If you dont have a tuner though you will be on your own to get the speedo corrected for the new gears.

Joe @ CRE did mine. No problem what so ever but i did swap an entire axle at the time. 3.73 FRPP Gears, FRPP T-Lok and a Ford 8.8" Rear Axle.
Currently my buddy's IROC is at Joe's getting Motive Blue Box 3.73s ( ) Yukon LSD and weld-on subframe connectors.
soooo yea, i recommend CRE

What What???:smokin: I need to get me some of what your smokin. A V6 auto? you would have to spray that thing with a 250 shot to get it into the 11's and the drive-line ALL of it would just go BOOM. The cheepest way to gain 100 horsepower to "keep up with the V8's" is to spray it with. I would guess at least a 100 shot. Have you ever tracked you car what time does it run now?

The 4.0 v6s have made some pretty impressive numbers with boost. There have been plenty of stock motor 4.0s hit 11s. The only thing they need is valve springs because right around 350 rwhp valve float becomes a problem. 400 rwhp isn't a problem with a safe tune.
The auto trans is plenty strong as well (stronger than the manual, which is a t5). Its the same auto as the GT except the input shaft is different and I think the bell housing might be different. The only drive train upgrades needed for an auto car are an 8.8 rear end and a driveshaft. The auto trans isn't exactly a slushbox either. With a good tune, the 5r55s will chirp the tires into second pretty easily.
I do disagree though that 13s are easily attainable n/a. There have only been 1 or 2 full bolt on 4.0s hit 13s n/a. Most bolt on cars are in the mid 14s.

Its the other way around 3.73 if its auto and4.10s if its stick
4.10s no matter what, i went from 3.31s to 4.10s to 3.73s back to 4.10s.

What kind of times are you getting with your setup Wolf? Jackass what kind of blower are you running? How many LBS of Boost? I need to get my car on a Dyno. But if I were to guess I would say I am putting anywhere from 360 to 380 to the wheels. My best time is a 12.7@113. Granted with my trap speed I should be closer to low 12's high 11's. Its real easy to throw around low ET's but when you get to the track its a totally different ball game. The most experienced drag racer I know with a 2003 gt was putting down 307 to the wheels with a complete suspension welded tubes Built rear end everything setup for dragracing the car. Dumping the clutch @6000rpm 1.4,60" powershifting ect Runs a constant 12.2@107 almost every time full weight car. This is a VERY rare thing to see. In my opinion for a 7.5 rear end to put up with this kind of abuse would be shocking. But you know what they say opinions are like assholes ever ones got one.

Large amounts of power can be made on a 4.0 with time and money. It sounds like he is looking for a decent mod to do with some leftover cash. We all would suggest gears I think.
Now on the subject of 4.10's or 3.73's...4.10:1 is a lot of gear. With minor mods, I am sure it would be a blast. If you do start moving up into a heavier modded car, and maybe add some boost or whatnot down the road, you may find the 4.10's to be too aggressive and not allow you to hook up as well.
For the record, it is the usual recommendation that 4.10's go with an auto and 3.73's with a stick. But again, this is if your only mods are gears, exhaust, CAI, pulleys, etc... If you're doing heavier mods, some more consideration should be put into what gear ratios you want to run.
What kind of times are you getting with your setup Wolf?
ive never tracked my car, i was afraid of breaking my old rear end.

gears are cheap 175 or less but set up isnt. expect to pay 4 to 550 to get it installed.cheaper to change speedo gear and then you think you are going fast

yea as it is now at 80mph im around 2700rpm with my 3.73, 3000-3200 at 90 in 5th gear, thats why i said DD, not many people would want to go steeper then that on a car they drive and fill with gas all the time.

yea at 90 gas mile age must suck
you wont want to go 90 with a 4.10 gear anyway, the reving is uncomfortable for long periods of time.

I am at 2550 in 5th with my 4:10's @ 75 with a 3650 I usually cruse about 72 just above the drone in my exhaust. I get about 19-21mpg on the HWY this way with my setup. Kinda shitty. Wish mpg was higher.
