Yeah. Dyno tests have show between 8 to 10 rwhp from swaping from a V6 muffler to a GT muffler. You can tell because the GT muffler is lighter in weight and gives the car a louder better tone. I'll try to find the before and after sound clips.

But thats pretty wild that just a muffler can do that on the 6er, Ford should do that stock to get their base numbers up higher for advertising purposes..

I swapped my stock sixer muffler for GT muffler. I like the deeper tone of it, expecially at idle. But If there is a HP gain, I can't tell....

A small gain is hard to notice by the seat of your pants, 1/4 times would tell.

I have gt duals. I haven't dyno'd it but there's no doubt about the gains.
Not as much as cai/tune of course but still worth it.
I don't expect Ford to add too much hp to the v6. For marketing purposes they need to keep a decent hp gap between the two. Bolt-ons can close that gap in a hurry. :thumbup:

Got my 6 when I really didn't know any better. Since then though I've been told its one of the sweetest sn95 sixes around.

Plus this TBird motor I'm dopping in should have me hanging with the big boys :)

I don't have a mustang, but I do have a "slightly modded" v6 camaro.

I like the others liked the look of my car when I seen it, plus at the time when I bought it my driving record was really bad......I could of afforded the car, but not the insurance on the V8 (mustang or camaro).

Thanks...got a pretty sweet deal on it. The car is loaded, minus leather seats and the Shaker 1000. I would have preferred black, but I just wanted to get back into a Ford, moreso a Mustang.:thumbup:

I just wanted to chime in on this one, When i was 19 I had the same deal around 50$ a month but my car was in my parents name and i was listed as a "Part time" driver on the car. That makes a HUGH difference. And that was with Nationwide insurance not some Eagle insurance or some crap. Course that was 10 years ago now, but definitely possible to get cheap insurance at that age.

As for my car, I have a 2003 Oxford White 3.8L 5 Speed Pony Edition, Grey interior.
My car has Some basic bolt ons and some kind of after market clutch that was in there when i bought it, not sure what kind it is. Im waiting for my tax return which should be here this week and im taking my car in to the shop to get the Y pipe cut then im going 2.25" divorced duals with thrush weld mufflers. Then im buying 3.73 gears and tlok and having those installed. Im buying a SCT SF3/X3 programmer and a short throw shifter, as well as a bunch of interior and exterior dress up. Hopefully ill have pics up by the end of next week.
