Anyone ever wonder WTF is wrong with FORD? I was at the AH Ford car show today and AH Ford didn't even have any sales people on staff nor did they have an 05 Mustang GT there. I know it's not a Ford Motor Company show but come on get a brain and try to sell fords at a ford show especially if it's at your location!!
OK now the thing that pisses me off about the Ford and the Mustang. Ford makes them slow as shit(asssembly plant) if you want one you gotta search hard for the one you want and usually have to wait to get what you want just to get poked by the dealer with a few thousand over window sticker!! WHY!
I noticed that the Pontiac dealer next to AH Ford has many '05 GTO's on display and you know the Pontiac dealers have few different options of colors and packages in stock ready for delivery. Think it's hard to go to ANY Chevy dealer and buy any kind of 05 Vette?
It pisses me off that Ford is doing this to people. Does anyone else realize this and piss them off? I would almost buy a 400 hp better gas mileage GTO just to spite FORD!

what makes you think there making them "slow as shit"? just because there hard to find doesnt make it so. unfortunatley for those wanting one, theres alot of demand for the car, hence which is why one might think there manufacturing them too slow. as for dealer markups, it basicaly comes down to supply and demand.

haha, the GTO's havent sold nearly to what GM had originally expected. no suprise there. again, supply and demand. as for the Vettes, thats not a very good comparison. that car cost roughly twice the amount of the Mustang. another words its not geared toward the general public whereas the Mustang is.

i can understand anyones frustration over the ordeal, but to be pissed at Ford is not being very fair. rather you should give them some credit for manufacturing an automobile that people actually WANT!
you think the new mustang GT is hard to come across, just wait till the new SVT GT500 becomes available. i bet those will even be much harder to get a hold of.

the reason there so hard to get is do to high demand, as for the rate they r sold compared to chevys. all gm r sellin there cars for employee discount right now cuz ford is rappin them. chevy isnt sellin shit! ford owns. an i dont think there slow at all, 300hp to the crank is more than i got stock.

Mike, I'm not talking about slow in performance. I'm talking about building them. I remember when the 99's came out. They were out no problem it seemed. Ford is making them 70(v6) 30(gt) I heard.
I'm not compalining which car is better between the GTO and Mustang but I think Ford is doing this on purpose.

Ford wouldn't build cars slow on purpose. They don't want artifically high prices because no matter what price these cars demand in the market the dealers all buy mustangs from ford for the same price. If ford could build more they would because they could sell more and make more money. I don't know if the split is 70/30 but I believe it and its smart if you ask me. In two years watch and see what kind of sales the v6 has to the GT. Ford doesn't want to build a factory for this short term high volime demand. It all comes down to what makes them the most money.

ill agree with this. however i dont recall people flocking to the dealers in large numbers to get one either.

Probably because it was on a Sunday? Isn't it illegal for a dealership to conduct business on a Sunday, which is why they aren't open?

Not sure about the sunday thing but it could be like the autoshow letting people check it out and sit in it and set up a time during the week to come in

Its because Indiana was set up by a bunch of baptist. You can't buy alcohol on Sundays either. Of course everyone is in church from sun up to sun down so it shouldn't matter right? Indiana is the state with some of the dumbest laws.

Like it has been said, Ford knows that people want this car, so they aren't sprouting out thousands of thousands at a time, they are slowly cycling them in so the demand slowly gets treated and they make a killing in money. The error ford did, however, was look at the sensus for the last few years and saw that they sold more v6 than GT models and produced more v6 than GT. The head and fog combo on the grill is what is selling for everyone and they all want GT, thus the explination for limited supply of them. As opposed you can walk into a dealer now and walk out with a v6 of your choice, or it can be shipped a day later. I congratulate ford. They are putting GM down. Thats why they are employee discounting every car, as Mike said. The discontiuation of the Camaro and the sloppy look of the GTO, these companies are no match.

also, jus wanna do more gm bashin, they stopped makin camaro an firebird cuz the pony beat em 3-1. and chevy will never make another rwd car sept for the corvette due to not havin fundin for it. i think its sweet.

How is having less performance cars in the market, particularly American RWD V8s, "sweet?" Do you honestly want GM to fail?

What? Ford does not like nor want this horrible problem. They had production issues on the 3 valve motor which has slowed then backed up production. This is by no means intentional on Fords part, they screwed up and are now paying for it. Both in lost sales and pissed off customers. They would sell a car to every person who wants one if they could!!! This is nothing more the a unintentional error.

GM will always have rwd car's the vette and GTO are just 2 caddy has a fast rwd car that's 3 off the top of my head that GM has. Dodge has the magnum and viper don't forget charger is coming out soon.
Ford only has the Mustang. If you raelly think about it GM will not out out w/o a fight. 500 nat. asp. vette coming out this fall!! Yea we got the 450hp BLOWN cobra/shelby next year but the vette will still out power it and do it on engine alone which is more impressive

Same goes for the Magnum, Viper, and Charger...none will come anywhere near Mustang sales.
Ford has done a pretty kickass job IMO. 03/04 Cobras are absolute monsters....smoked the regular C5 LS1 Vette. The new Cobra will be awesome too. Also the new Z06 is going to be absolutely awesome...but still will not match the Ford GT performance. The Ford GT traps over 130mph. The new Z06 in testing has only been trapping 120mph.
Also...if you compare the financial states of the two companies Ford is currently doing MUCH better than GM. GM has a lot of work to do or their $300,000,000,000 debt is going to keep growing.

Yeah, according to dealer talk...last I heard Mustangs are 2-3 day cars...meaning that if a Mustang is on the lot, it will sell within 2-3 days
The Chevy SSR by comparision is a 300+day car, if you drive around, almost every dealer has two
I'm not sure about the GTO, but with only around 40,000 being imported, and at least 5 or so sitting on each lot I've seen, they have got to be around 10-20 day cars
I've also heard that the allotment of '05 model year GTs have been sold(maybe this is the engine problem? dunno)
